With that he was sixth on the all time hits list. He finished his career with a .310 batting average. He was a part of five Works Series winning teams. After the game Derek Jeter said "It felt like the time was right". Derek Jeter was arguably the best shortstop to ever play Major League Baseball. He will definitely be inducted into the Hall of Fame. He was an outstanding hitter and made several famous plays at shortstop over his 20 year career.
