The Fall Classic

On Wednesday, the San Francisco Giants defeated the Kansas City Royals to win the World Series. The Giants have now won the World Series now three out of the last five  years. The last team to do this was the 1996-2000 New York Yankees. Bruce Bochy, the manager of the Giants has now won three World Series. He is the 10th manager is MLB history to have achieved this. This year, the Giants were efficient on both sides of the game . Madison Bumgardner, a Giants starting pitcher threw a complete game three days before game seven. He came in Game 7 and threw five shutout innings, with no runs out hits allowed. He had a .25 ERA with one run allowed all series. He joins Randy Johnson as the only other pitcher in MLB history to have three wins in one World Series. Madison Bumgardner was named this year's World Series MVP. The Giants have worked hard this year for a right to play in the World Series, and have capitalized on opportunities that have presented themself in this series and throughout the season.
